COMMUNITY MURAL

In April 2012, we studied mural art through the ages in the Creative Creatures & Co. workshop, “Walls of Creativity”. Our students discovered ancient cave paintings in France, frescoes of the Italian Renaissance, and public murals by modern artists.

Our greatest endeavor during “Walls of Creativity” was the collective effort to create a 3ft. by 5ft. mural! Collaborating amongst themselves, our students turned a blank canvas into an inspiring mural to share with the local community. The studies of mural and wall art throughout the weeks gave students the inspiration to create brilliant images in an array of blue hues. The use of unique patterns developed by creating stamps from recycled materials, combined with bold graphic imagery, made this mural truly stand out!

On April 28, 2012 Creative Creature & Co. showcased the mural for the “Art on the Fence” exhibit in Dana Point, CA. Take a look at what the OC Register had to say about one of our very own Creative Creatures.
